University of Hull

Applicants are required to submit a current CV and cover letter

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the ICT Department’s Enterprise Systems & Data Services team as an Identity Management Specialist.

The team is responsible for data integration and data warehousing development, database administration, identity management and general software development within the University. The team also contributes to the institution’s digital strategy and delivers on CI/CD (continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment), test automation, and master data management.

We are looking for a highly motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The successful candidate will be tasked with developing, securing and maintaining the university’s bespoke Identity Management processes, databases and infrastructure using predominately MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server and PowerShell. We have a constantly evolving environment where attention to detail, analytical skills and the ability to integrate diverse systems are essential. Experience of systems integration using Microsoft Graph API and/or C# and .Net development would be advantageous.

The post holder will contribute to the design of interfaces and data structures as well as write and maintain documentation describing the purpose, structure, mechanisms and security of the identity management and lifecycle management processes and their underlying infrastructure.

The post holder will also be required to provide excellent levels of customer service; triaging and adding diagnostic value to support calls assigned to the team whilst monitoring progress against support requests and providing timely and effective customer feedback.

The University has an ‘Agile’ working policy so, whilst the post holder will be required to attend campus for defined activities, there will also be opportunities available for them to flex both their working days and the location where that work is undertaken with the agreement of their line manager.

The post holder will seek to actively participate in meetings, stand-ups and training sessions and will be required to gain an understanding of other disciplines within the team: Data integration, Database Administration, Management and Management Information/Business Intelligence.
