Who you’ll be working for: Reporting to the Commercial Lead you will be working for an ever-expanding build contractor with a growing reputation in the market with projects ranging from £200k to £8m operating nationally throughout the UK. What you’ll be asked to: Be involved in a construction project at various stages, working collaboratively with multiple teams both internally and externally. Responsible for allocating work, and controlling expenditure. See projects through to the end, monitor the progress of plans and keep the client updated on outcomes. In order to fulfill this you will be required to: * Liaise with Estimating Dept during tender settlement stage * Run cost analyses for tender preparation * Represent the company at client meetings such as pre-commencement and progress meetings * Manage supply chain such as: * Attending Subcontractor appointments and negotiate terms * Attending consultant appointments, and draft formal deeds and negotiate terms * Ensure contracts are fulfilled by maintaining records, contractual notifications, change control, etc. * Inspection, measurement, and valuation of works * Price and track client variations * Prepare interim applications for payment * Assess subcontractor interim applications * Pay subcontractors and consultants as per terms * Liaise with the accounts department, to generate client invoicing and wider financial reports * Prepare and manage cost-value reconciliations, cashflow forecasts, risk & opportunity registers * Monitor and control costs throughout the project * Prepare summary commercial reports for the client and other stakeholders * Provide aftercare by liaising between client and supply chain * Liaise between all site staff and the client * Support other departments as and when required: Pre-con, Estimating and Buying departments * Have responsibility for commercial performance across a number of concurrently running construction projects * Uphold health and safety regulations * Monitor and flag any commercial risks This role would suit someone with: * Knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts * Degree level education and/or equivalent, RICS membership or working towards the same * 5 years experience of construction projects * Experience of fast-paced projects and excellent team working skills * Has knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction-specific IT suites such as conquest and BIM viewer/measurement software * The ability to travel nationwide to construction sites on occasion * CSCS card holder * Excellent negotiating skills What’s in it for you? – The opportunity to work with a company that values positivity, commitment & responsibility, honesty and fairness. – A fantastic opportunity to develop your career with a great team – Competitive salary
