Reach Recruitment are working exclusively with one of the city’s leading manufacturers in the leisure and modular industry, Willerby Ltd, producing a range of products to recruit an experienced Supplier Quality Assurance Manager.

As the Supplier Quality Assurance Manager, you will manage all company suppliers ensuring the quality of part supply is maintained, monitored and improved where possible. The role will also require the development and coaching of suppliers to resolve quality issues through structured problem solving, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions are installed.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced supply quality professional to join us in this integral role that supports the supply and quality assurance of materials into our sites and manufacturing operations.

The Supply Quality Assurance Manager will be the first point of contact for suppliers to maintain and promote a mutually beneficial working relationship in relation to quality matters.

The successful candidate will lead a small team and ensure that internal processes are followed at all times on the return of rejected products back to suppliers, liaising with other business functions to reach timely resolutions.

Key responsibilities include:

* Schedule, organise, plan, conduct and report on risk-based Supplier Audits as per schedule, ensuring record keeping of all audit activities.

* Establish an effective management system to drive supplier performance for RFTQ and OTIF in conjunction with the Procurement and Planning teams.

* Coach suppliers in process improvement and structured problem solving, dealing with issues and/or discrepancies through data analysis.

* Analyse, assess and report on supplier defects and to report and update progress/responses on raised supplier quality issues via the SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) in a timely manner, aiding management review of the performance data.

* Ensure that Supplier Returns Agreements are developed and approved with key suppliers.

* Ensure that costs incurred/associated with supplier quality failures are recovered (in conjunction and collaboration with the Procurement function).

* Develop and effectively introduce systems and/or procedures, which will facilitate Continuous Improvements within the functional processes of the SQA team.

* Support the Procurement team and broader Supply Chain function to ensure that all identified new parts/components are approved via our internal processes prior to the introduction to manufacturing.

* Line management and development of the Supply Quality Assurance team.

Job requirements

About You

You will have excellent attention to detail and a sound understanding of quality management systems, namely ISO 9001.

You will also have a good awareness of Supply Chain processes and best practise techniques.

It is also essential that you have a good standard of IT literacy and will be able to interpret and describe information from engineering drawings as well as understanding the manipulation of quality data (Supplier Corrective Action Reporting).

You may be responsible for other team members in your current or previous roles or may be looking for the opportunity to lead a team and support the development of your direct reports.

Given the nature of the role, you will need to have effective communication skills and be able to engage with a range of stakeholders to drive process improvement.
